Came back to tinker with the MacPro5,1 again and decided to try Sequoia with OCLP. Did a clean install using the guide and it seems to work very nicely... except, no wifi, no Bluetooth. I guess it wasn't expecting to deal with an upgraded card, as I installed the BCM943602CDP for native support under Monterey.

I understand there are a bunch of root patches and special sauce in OpenCore to make things work, and though I've tried disabling various related options using OpenCore Configurator the best I've managed is for Bluetooth devices to be seen, but never pair successfully. The iMacs that originally used the BCM943602CDP do seem to be supported by OCLP, so I assume there must be patches available, but my searches haven't turned up anything helpful. That probably means it's monumentally complicated, or incredibly simple and I should have figured it out myself.

Anyone managed to get this working or have any pointers?

Posted this on the main Sequoia on Unsupported Macs thread instead, but sadly no information.

Really this was only for fun, as the Mac Pro is now my Linux gaming machine and I rarely boot it into macOS these days. I’ll keep an eye on developments though, as I can’t believe there aren’t others out there having the same issue as a result of what was a popular upgrade.

Mine has the Broadcom BCM94352HMB, and it works without root patch on Monterey and with root patches on later systems. I have a wired ethernet to the Eero in that room, making updating the KDK easy.
If you have WiFi-only support, you would have to download the correct KDK before installation.

See here for instructions on how to re-enable previously supported wifi cards in macOS Sonoma/Sequoia:

This looks like exactly the thing I'm looking for, thank you!
