When trying to install Monterey to my cMP, I can boot and complete the installation from the USB stick without error. It then reboots to the macOS Installer partition, and again, seems to complete successfully. It reboots a second time, but the progress bar hangs at 25-30% for a minute or so, then reboots again without any kind of message. I tried letting it do this 10+ times with no progress. I then manually intervened and tried booting from Macintosh HD - Data, which gets to ~50% before rebooting. I’m not sure how to start troubleshooting this, as Googling around doesn’t turn up anyone having the same issue.
