MP 1,1-5,1 OCLP Monterey 12.4 USB power

There seems to be a USB power issue on OCLP Monterey 12.4. I don't have any diagnostic gear to confirm this but I can't think what else could explain it. I have a USB powered MIDI Keyboard (Kawai VPC1) which no longer works in Monterey but when I switch back to Catalina it's fine again. In Monterey the power LED flashes on the Keyboard which probably indicates a power issue but the clincher is when I unplug the USB cable from the Mac Pro and plug it into my monitor the VPC1 works perfectly.

I don't know if it related but I'm sometimes unable to wake from sleep with a keypress or mouse move. Apart from these issues everything else appears to be pretty solid. I'm using OCLP 0.7.4 BTW.

It's not power, but BigSur and Monterey not supporting USB1.1 devices anymore. Workaround is to connect via a hub.

I'm still stuck with what I thought was a sleep crash but I'm starting to wonder if that's actually what it is. Basically If I leave the Mac for a while it's virtually always crashed when I come back. The power blinks dimly and I have to hard reset. If you're reading this tsialex I wonder if you could cast your expert eye over this short crash report.

Thought it might be the firewire connection to my Audio Interface so used USB2 instead. Still doing the sleep crash thing unfortunately.

First thing is to check your RTC battery voltage and replace the BR2032 battery if the voltage is below 3.00V.

Second thing is to check your config with a fully supported Mojave install, to see if the same thing happens. Proceed to the usual diagnostic steps.

It's useless to diagnose anything with unsupported installs.

Does this have to be the Panasonic BR2032? I've just spent an hour trying to source one. Shortest lead time seems to be 4 weeks. I take it the CR2032 is no good.

Can I check my config with High Sierra? Would save all the head scratching involved in upgrading to Mojave. Also my only successful install of OCLP Monterey so far has been starting from High Sierra and I still have one more 2009 Mac Pro and a 2010 Mac Pro to go.

What are the "usual diagnostic steps"?

Thoroughly tested this Mac Pro running High Sierra and it sleeps and wakes without issue. No crashes.
Is the Duracell BR2032 a satisfactory substitute? Sourcing the Panasonic version seems problematic without long wait.

No, CR2032 chemistry is not adequate for the usage and temperatures below the GPU.

Wait a minute, you are trying Monterey without doing the Mojave firmware upgrades?

AFAIK Duracell don't make BR2032 batteries, just CR2032. Only Panasonic and Matsushita still make it, but the later one is the parent company of Panasonic.

CR2032 can be used temporarily, but a CR2032 will cook below the GPU and die within weeks/months instead of the ten years of the BR2032 expected life.

Thanks but I'm starting to think I may just have to switch sleep off at least for the time being. BTW I now have 2 other MPs running OCLP Monterey without sleep issues so wondering if it could be Logic Pro or the MOTU drivers for my Audio Interface. I trying removing that stuff from the equation.
