Hello Forum!

I'm new here and sadly already need your help. I'm trying to prolong the life of my MacBook Pro 11,3 (15", late 2013, currently on Big Sur 11.7.10) by installing Ventura via OpenCore Legacy Patcher. I've downloaded the image and created a bootable stick. However, when rebooting to install the new system, I end up in recovery and get the option to install Ventura from there. When I select this option, I get a message that I have insuficient space on my Macintosh HDD. It shows about 15 GB free when actually I have more than 200 GB free.

Now, I'm not that Mac savvy, but I also don't know nothing. Here, I am stuck. The information I was able to find on the OCLP website and some Google searches so far did not lead to deeper understanding nor progress. Can you help?

Thanks a lot

Back up your files first. Boot into Recovery. Is Recovery allow you to reinstall Big Sur or is Recovery version of macOS different? Follow Mr Macintosh video for setting up dual-boot on your MBP.

The new system will not install in the first place, meaning Big Sur is still installed and starts without a problem. It is the installation itself that boots into a recovery system and then refuses to install because of seemingly low disk space. This number is wrong, however, as there is more than enough space on my drive.

I will watch the tutorial you mentioned and see, if there is any information that I can use to facilitate the installation. I will report back.
