So I just finished watching the September 2013 media event which showcased only iOS 7, iPhone 5C, and iPhone 5S. Obviously there was no Mac, OS X, iPad, and iPod announcements today.

Could we see a repeat of last year and see an October event as well?

They just added a new color - Space Gray - to the touch, nano, and shuffle. I doubt they would have done that if their current form factors are only going to stick around for a month.

Do iPods even warrant a mention at a media event anymore?

You do realize that Apple sells more than just iPhones and iPods, right? Most of the macs could be due for an update soon, plus they probably will have some sort of event for the release of Mavericks, So I'd say it is a good guess that there will be another event in October.

I don't doubt there will be another media event in October - I'd guess one that focuses mainly on the iPad.

But even updates to Macs don't always warrant media events anymore. Remember the introduction of the 27in. iMac?

Makes sense to get some more products out there before the Xmas season. An updated iPad Mini could be an important products in terms of gifting - and onboarding people into the Apple ecosystem.
