ALL of Apples products have gone AWAY from the acrylic finish that is SOLELY left on the MB

My prediciton is that on the Leopard release announcement come new Aluminum MBs with small updates.

Mark it down and remember you heard it here first....

Couldn't hear it over the ego. :p

Honestly this was very "tongue in cheek". I really think that is what is coming tho. they always piggy back something on... and just about anything that needs an update has gotten one except the MB.

Hahhaa,
OKay okay... it is marked. Written in 1's and 0's for all to see.

Yeah The Mac Pro Hasn't Needed Another Update Since Before The Cold War Ended

Yeah, God knows we don't need a Mac Pro update for another year.

I'll just keep my eyes open here on MacRumors.com and as somebody else suggested, 'mactactic.com'.
MacTactic seem to believe the Macbook and Macbook Pro range will be updated within the next month, but also (which may provide some hope) a Mac Pro update is seen to be only 2 months away.
Fingers crossed :)

That MacTactic Mac Pro info is Bogus. The Mac Pro is still the same as it was in August of 2006 not April 2007 6 months ago. All Apple did in April was add a dual Quad Core Clovertown option - not revise anything. So their information is completely WRONG. Mac Pro is more than 400 days old - the longest stretch a top of the line Mac has ever gone without a refresh. Radically overdue thanks to Intel's laggard shipping schedule.

Yeah you were the first to make that speculation at 1:51pm today, and maybe even the first today, but certainly not the first this week, or this month, or last month...

I really hope so.
As I am currently waiting to pull the trigger on a new mac book pro 15-inch. Here at work I have Duel Power Mac g5, with 6GB of memory. This is great for all the video & multimedia production I do here, but for my other life... I need the Portable soon. I am going to be jumping from a g4 powerbook to a mbp, and what a jump it will be. I am about half way done with recording a new album and writing songs.
With out it for a month almost now has been weird. I have found the mac to be an essential instrument as a guitar for me in song writing. From constructing beats, to meshing out riff ideas and laying vocal/lyric ideas a mac is invaluable.
Anyways. In my desire to get an updated MPB and the new OS I must learn patience and to keep pen and paper around when I am working on songs.
so lets hope the announcement is soon and mbps are updated.. in the name of rock n roll. ;-)

I do hope that the Mac Pro update is only a month away, and looking at it from Apple's point of view, that would be a good time to update (Christmas coming up etc.), as I said, fingers crossed :)

I genuinely need a new mac now as my mini is nearly full - I'm in no hurry, so I'm waiting for a new Mac Pro.

But as far as portables go, I like the sound of some rumors / predictions that a tablet-type MacBook may be in development. For me this would be the ultimate portable. When doing R&D I make a lot of notes etc. while I travel around but I never get around to typing all these up (pen and paper still the best option for me). Laptops don't let me draft ideas / diagrams as naturally as pen / paper. I've never found a tablet of decent size to use and my handwriting challenges the best recognition software. But what a great technology multi-touch is - with os X and a dashboard-esque keyboard over-layed on top, my dream of a StarTrek style PADD could soon be a reality!! I'm thinking now - can drawing work well with multi-touch?

Not true, the Mighty Mouse still has that white look;) And don't forget about Airport, the power adapters, and usb modem.

You're combining aluminum and "small"?:confused: A case redesign would be a pretty major overhaul, not to mention the fact that the macbooks will probably get SR. That sounds like a pretty big update to me.

How original.
