I have two monitors always attached to my Mac Mini (2018), attached and turned on

there is a third "monitor" attached as well, but it's not really a monitor, it's a projector. it's always connected, but I only turn it on in the evenings (after work).

the issue: the system thinks the third monitor (the projector) is on, even when it isn't.

as a result, it keeps putting apple music on the third monitor. Which is frustrating, since the third monitor (the projector) is NOT turned on.

it's a simple but annoying workaround, but I can just unplug the third monitor (the projector) every day & then plug it back in.

is there any other way to tell the system that the third monitor (the projector) is NOT on, when the system thinks that it is?

not a major issue, obviously, just annoying, to unplug every morning and re-plug every evening.

Are you sure off is really off? Perhaps it’s in a standby mode but still responding to EDID probes so the computer still sees it as a screen?

I do NOT believe this projector has a standby mode. As far as I can see, there are only two power settings - on & off.

(but wait, there is a blinking light on top of the projector, the light blinks whenever the plug is connected from the projector to the AC outlet, so maybe it is in a kind of standby mode? I have no idea how to turn it complete off, other than to unplug it completely...)

hmmm... something to think about, thanks very much.
