Hey Everyone,
My 2008 Mac Pro has had some very strange things happening since I removed some bad RAM from one RAM tray. The system is:
2x 2.8 Quad Core Early 2008 Mac Pro
14GB RAM
Geforce GTX 285 1GB
10.11.6 El Capitan
I noticed two DIMMs were not being seen in About This Mac, so I removed the tray and took them out. Only other unusual thing was that the pin edge of the tray was very slightly warped, but it went back in ok.
Now the USB ports don't seem to work right - my scanner doesn't make the usual noises it does when initializing, the keyboard stops working after a few minutes and the mouse cursor won't drag anything without dropping it. Also, when trying to highlight text and delete/type over it, the blue highlight jumps around when I move the cursor. It's a _little_ better when plugging things into the front USB ports, but not much.
Ran AHT all night - found nothing wrong. Have reset SMC, NVRAM - no change. I'm stumped!! Did I miss anything?
