Odd-iMessage

My buddy sent me a message from his iPad. For some odd reason, it was delivered to my iPhone and my wifes. We share the same apple account and iCloud. Even stranger, when I responded my wife got a copy of that too.

Ended up up creating a new account for her and it seems to have fixed the issue. Wondering if the reason we both got the message was because of shared account?

iMessage sends its messages to an account, so I guess all devices logged in to the same account will receive everything, as well as the out going ones.

Thanks, was thinking that was the case. Created a separate account for wife and that seems to have fixed.
