Odd issues, wifi, crashing on restart, slow - related?

I've been experiencing Wifi dropouts for several weeks when using my Air with my AEBS - I've changed channels, bands, G/N mixed to just N etc, but I still get these issues.

This week, I've been using my trust old whitebook, same network, the Air drops the connection, whilst faithful whitebook keeps it - the Air still shows full signal strength and that it's connected - it maybe does this 2 - 3 times a day, or sometimes just the once, not major but amazingly annoying if i'm hosting a GoToMeeting.

Apple Care weren't able to track the problem, they suggested doing all of the things that I'd tried, the guy on the phone also said my Air was oddly slow in booting up and checked what apps load at login.

He asked me to restart the machine, when another issue reared its head, sometimes when restarting the machine appears to be on (white light) but there's no activity and the screen's off, I have to turn it off by holding down the power key for 5 seconds and then back on before it comes back up - again, this issue has been present for as long as I can remember, I rarely fully reboot the machine - so I tend to forget it's there.

Has anyone had any of these faults? I'm on my 3rd Air of the year, and my patience is shot, it's a great machine, but have I really been that unlucky?

Hmm - 51 views and no responses? Having re-read what I wrote it's quite a long post, so to summarise:

Has anyone experienced random wifi dropouts (appears connected yet no activity)

And their Air crashing on restart? I.e. I hit restart and it closes down everything, screen goes off, but the white light stays on and it never restarts?

could the issues be related? the hardware (airport) be freaking out the air when trying to restart? check your router through another computer, you probably already have, but put the ip address in and see if there is a small setting which might be overlooked. what are the network settings on the air? what did apple care get you to try when troubleshooting?

I guess the airport could have been crashing the air on shut down, Apple were good, spent an hour on the phone to a tech support guy - he asked what I'd tried, initially thought as I had that it was a network issue. I'd tried it with two routers and it just wasn't happening for me - still dropped out, my white macbook has never had problems with either of these routers.

Took it into the genius bar and was asked what I'd like to do, said I'd like to swap it for something else, I opted for a Macbook 2.4ghz, I really liked the Air, but it just never seemed to work 100% for me.

Great customer care from Apple - I'm happy, the screen's as good as the Air on this one, seems it's true about them upping the quality.
