i have my mini setup to run 24-7. I was having some issues with it so I turned of putting the drives to sleep in energy savings. Sometimes it has been restarting itself in OSX utilities. Do any of you know why this would happen? Is it a kernel panic? I have never received any messages like the system error message or that it was rebooted. It just goes to the utilities on its own. Any ideas?

Yes. I put a 4GB stick in and run 6. I guess I could just put the regular 2Gb from apple and see if that resolves the issue. And if so I'll just buy an 8gb crucial pair. Do you think it would do that because of an unmatched pair of ram? I ran the hardware diagnostics and it didn't find any issues.
