My girlfriend has a MacBook, with various issues (heat, whine, moo, pop) but she also has an issue that i've not read about (i read the forum everyday)

The MacBook's will not come back on after a restart. The screen stays black whenever she has to restart or shutdown.

Applecare told her to reset her PRAM, both for the speaker pop and the black screen, but they both worked for a short time, but now are back.

It's extremely frustrating, as we were excited that Apple released a firmware update, then after restarting the damn thing wouldn't come back on...

Any others out there with this problem?

What is the remedy? Should she demand that Apple take a look at it after all the issues she has?

Thanks in advance,

Rich.

Yes, AppleCare should look after this.

Good shout!

But do you have any tips on how to get them to agree on taking it in, rather than them recommend us resetting the PRAM again?

Anyone else with this issue?

Rich.

Just tell them the truth...you tried that and the issue just comes back. Tell them you would like to either exchange it or get it fixed and they most likely will.
