The mail app in Monterey defaults to opening up with the bottom edge contacting the dock. It doesn't seem to want to be anywhere else no matter where I move the window, or resize the window. Didn't apps used to open up where you last had them when you quit them? Is there some way to make it default to open where and how I want it to look rather rather than how it wants to?

Been wonky for a couple of OSes now.

What usually works: bring up app, resize/re-position, quit the app, restart.

Mine behaves normally. It remembers window size and position between restarts, so it seems like you may have a corrupted preference.

Do all your applications forget window size and position, or just mail?
