So I recently upgraded my memory and it's working fine. However, System Report gets the model wrong for the new memory. It's supposed to be M393A4K40CB2-CVF (Samsung 2933 MHz 32 GB r-dimms) but reads M393A4K40CB2-CTD -- which would be 2666 MHz 32 GB r-dimms. The chips themselves say they're CVF's, and the machine thinks the speed is correct (it lists them as 2933 MHz), but seeing the wrong part number is a little off-putting. Probably a quirk I can live with, but any ideas?

Given that they replaced 8 GB original Apple r-dimms, could it be just a setting that needs to be refreshed?

Which CPU do you have?

I wouldn't worry too much if the memory is performing well. It could be that the memory manufacturer is rebadging/relabeling similar SKUs
