I've had my iPhone since Friday. Everything was perfect until this late morning. Suddenly, I can't connect to data (wifi or Edge). Voice calls work fine. I'm at home and the wifi works on my laptop but not anymore on the iPhone. It just says it couldn't find the server (in mail for yahoo) or the Safari page times out. I'm in Los Angeles.

Ok, wifi just started working again...after 2 hours. I had turned off and on and then 30 minutes later wifi worked.

Anyone else?

EDIT: I see that lots of people are having problems with EDGE. Anyone have wifi problems (without it telling you your password is wrong)?

Very similar situation here! Wifi is choppy since this morning, even if the blue connection indicator has two or all three bars. No idea how this could work since the Wifi functionality shoudl be pretty much independent from EDGE.

Interesting, I thought I was going crazy :)

Have you tried to connecting to the wifi point with a laptop? I don't understand how an airport connection can work on my laptop but the same connection won't work on the iPhone.

Now the wifi is working again! We'll see.

Haha, now its NOT working again. WTF. I have 2-4 bars and nothing is being received.

Same here... ever since Noon CT my phone has been on the network but barely able to get any data. No mail... nothing... even the weather wigit can't even update the weather (says it can't find the server).

I'm guessing is a nationwide problem if your having the problem in CA also!

I'm in Houston, TX

Yeah, I've read all over the boards now that since about 1PM PST nobody is getting EDGE. Go AT&T!

However, I think I might have worked out the wifi problem. I disabled my mail accounts (just turned them off) and now my wifi works for internet. I guess that the mail program is constantly spinning its wheels updating and looking for new messages (I have Yahoo IMAP - which is also sucking currently). The mail program must taken precedence and stop the data from going thru to Safari. Anyone else find this solves the problem or is it just a fluke?

OK, that was the problem for me. Now my wifi is nice and fast again. The constant checking for email by the crappy Yahoo "Push" is whats sucking up the bandwidth. See ya Yahoo.
