Odd Progress Bar at Restart

I must once again appeal to the collective wisdom of this group. Since installing Lion on an OWC PCIe card on my 2012 hex core, I've twice had to restart due to both bluetooth devices (magic mouse and trackpad) freezing up. On restarting, I get the grey apple boot screen with the progress bar at the bottom, which takes a while to complete before giving me the desktop. I've only ever seen this when updating firmware.

I've researched this and have come up with the possibility that this is either a "bug" in Lion, or there may be a problem with my boot drive, or, of course, something else entirely. I've run repair permissions and the OWC drive checks out. Any thoughts?

I've seen what you describe when my boot drive was corrupt.

I think it is diskutil running a disk verify at boot. Not a good thing to see more than once for sure. Backup your data and call OWC. Maybe they can tell you if you are indeed soon to fail. Generally though SSD's just stop working all together.

I've backed everything up and have reinstalled Lion, in case it's software related. If it happens again, then I'll contact OWC.

I had this a couple of time on my iMac 27" with a WD physical drive...A clean install of Lion fixed things for me....Hope your SSD is okay. The fail rate on these is still high...Quite a few post's about DOA rMBP's or failing drives in the first few weeks of use....I just wonder if the higher capacity SSD's are up to the job yet. I haven't had issues with my 2011 MBA 256GB, but opted for a Pegasus R4 as extra storage for my iMac instead of SSD array.

That's encouraging, thanks. I should have stated that this is the 120GB OWC PCIe Drive. So, it's not the biggest. I've never had an SSD fail on me, but have certainly read about it.
