So it’s not way important, but I recently bought the “Papaya” Smart Cover for my iPad Mini 5. I had kept the Light Blue and Deep Reddish Orange.... I am trying to find another Orangish Smart Cover color in the Orange family but I can’t recall what iPad it was for (i know for sure it was for iPads newer than 2015.)

It had an odd name and wasn’t a regular Orange, does anyone remember a lighter colored Orange from any of the the iPad Pro-lines or iPad 9.7” 5 and 6 series?
It’s driving me nuts. lol

I just got a Mini 4 Smart Cover on eBay in Orange for my new Mini 5 and the seller had another Mini 4 cover (since sold) named Apricot - it seemed slightly lighter and yellowish.

Yeah that’s the other Orange one I have. I have the apricot which is a very deep orange red-orange.

Thanks. The one I got was even more of a burnt color than yours but not salmony.......

Nevermind, you were right. It was apricot. The mini 4 is just called “orange” I wanted to get this for my 9.7” iPad Pro. I just wish Apple had released multiple vibrant colors for the new 2018 iPad Pros.
I love changing them up often and changing the background to match it, lol.

Besides eBay I saw some older colors on Amazon. The new colors are two light for me - I would rather get something that won’t show the dirt as quickly.

I just want to find a Smart Cover that is vibrant and colorful for my iPad Pro 12.9”, but I can’t find any that are like Apple’s (with microfiber inside) and I don’t know if I can trust the magnet placement on them or trust them in general.
I keep thinking about dying a white Smart folio, but I have no idea how to do that, and can’t find a website or company that does. I would love a Blue, Red, or Green color cover to switch around. It gives my iPad its own personality IMO. Before the iPad Pro I would change the covers up every couple weeks or months (especially to match the season.)

For my mini 5, I have the Blue, Papaya, and deep Orange... it’s not much, but it’s still fun to change the background to match the cover when I switch them. I like white, but there just aren’t many backgrounds that are white or gray-ish with cool designs.
Apple why can’t you release that electric blue (that came out in spring 2018 for the 10.5” Pro.)... for the new pros?
Or re-release the product red, come on! o_O
Having solid vibrant colors with a few more muted colors would be so much better than charcoal, white, and pink sand. I guarantee they would make more money doing that... well, unless there’s a huge fan base for pink sand. Lol

It’s not quite the same but have you considered using a skin on the cover?

I don’t think they will stick on the smart covers. Don’t those just do skins for iPads, iPhones, macs, and such?
Thanks,

Kallum.

They should stick. Not sure how that would be any different from my iPP 11 keyboard folio. You may have to order a whole skin, say laptop size, and cut it yourself. What I did (when I had checked to see if there were skins for the keyboard and didn’t see them) is did a paper rubbing of the cover to get the exact size/shape of the raised pieces, then used a metal ruler and craft knife to cut the straight edges and small, sharp scissors to cut the rounded edges. Your cover wouldn’t be solid orange, but the raised parts would be and the parts that flex would still be the original material and color showing. That might not be acceptable to you, though.

I feel ya on not having cool colors. I have the first orange watch band and wanted an orange smart cover for my IPP 10.5. So I picked up a few including a White Smart Cover. I was thinking I could use either Sharpies or Markers and design something. Or maybe buy 8x10 Clear shipping labels, print something cool on them, and attach it to the smart cover. The adhesive isn't very strong so it won't damage the cover.

Smalldog has the 9.7 IPP smart covers in stock.
