Hello,
I, like many of you, have been anxiously awaiting a new updated MBA. Spec-wise the current model is fine for my needs but my main concern is, and has been, the weak hinge/floppy-screen issue and I will not buy one with the current configuration––even though they'll replace or fix even after warranty runs out.
My question is: Is it entirely unprecedented for new products to just show up in the store (online apple store) without weeks or even months of leaked "evidence" such as new SKUs or Part#s leading up to its appearance?
In other words, is there any chance that we'll just hit the apple online store one Tuesday and "There it is!" Or are there always clues and evidence circulating beforehand? Thanx.

I mean, maybe I'm forgetting something, but is there a major thing Apple has done in the last 5 years that was a complete surprise? It seems like we always have leaks.

I feel like there is no point staying up all night waiting for this to be updated. It's unsure at best. I think it's a lot more likely we'll simply see a lower level 13 inch Macbook with a smaller battery and no optical drive.

People keep complaining about the screen and hinge, can someone post pictures so i can see what you are on about? i can quite easily pick my Air up by the screen... probably not the smartest thing to do lol, anyways, i would kill for a MBA update, maybe with the same power as the Sony Vaio Z but better:

-Ultra-Thin Glass Screen
-i7 Turbo Capabilities @ 2.93GHZ
-8GB RAM
-Glass Trackpad
-Ethernet Port, 3 USB Ports (iPhone, iPad and iPod Shuffle), Headphone Jack, Mini-display Port
-2x 250GB HDD @ 7200RPM/500GB SSD (Free of Charge of Course)
- Liquid Cooling System to prevent over-heating ;)

But we can all dream lol :p
