oem software?

has anyone here bought oem software before? i found a site that has CS2 for mac listed pretty cheap and it's because it's oem. if you have bought oem before... what are the pros/cons? is it worth it?

i just recently switched from a pc to a mac (got my imac two days ago). i had adobe CS2 on my pc and would like to stick with CS2, but it's hard to find for sale now that CS3 is out and for a mac. not to mention it's over $1000 for any of the creative suites.

adobe does not license the CS/2/3 suite as OEM. its illegal/stolen/cracked software and you should not buy it.

cheapest route for legit is academic pricing. i think (not sure) that adobe allows a crossgrade from PC to Mac version of CS2.

CS2 not Intel native

Yeh, you may as well spend $69 bucks on Parallels or VM Fusion (or BootCamp it for free) and run your PC version of CS2, because the CS2 suite for the Mac is not Intel processor native anyway... it prpbably will run equal to, or maybe even slower than, the PC version in virutalization. Plus, you can use Parallels (or Bootcamp) to run all those other PC apps you're bound to have lying around.

That Eurosoft site is a scam just waiting for a sucker, me thinks!!!

And yep, Adobe does offer cross-grades between PC to Mac, we did that at my workplace, but I think only if you are upgrading to a newer software version (not sure if they still sell CS2, but you can get CS3 for an upgrade price... still more than a student version would be though).
