C'mon Apple.

I mean who really cares about this Starbucks feature.
It seems like a cash grab by Apple.

You and I might not care, but I'm sure people do. For me, I don't see how they care, but whatever. I go into Starbucks only when I can't find a Dunkin' Donuts around or I have a gift card for Starbucks. But to buy music, to hang out, I don't understand that kind of stuff. Even to do work, yeah, maybe, but not that much. I MIGHT try it once so I can give my review on it, but I really could care less.

Hopefully free WiFi will come soon, maybe they're doing a deal further than the WifiStore stuff. If every Starbucks gave iPods free internet, it would be awesome for both businesses - In major cities, its basically citywide WiFi, and tons of people would flock to Starbucks.

I really could care less.

You could - could you? Now me ... I couldn't care less about the Starbucks feature. I care so little that it is not possible for me to care any less. The amount of care that I have for the Starbucks feature is zero.

Free wifi at starbucks would make it worth while.

You're complaining about an extra feature?

Just don't use it. Simple.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

I am not complaining about the adding the feature. I am complaining that Apple made this a priority when it seems like there is an endless list of features that people want, are easy to implement, and would increase demand. I feel this feature really doesn't do any of these.

This is kind of my point.
You're assuming they made this a priority - and you're also assuming this won't increase demand. Think about this in a few years time when several different kinds of store chains are on board. The iPhone/iPod knows where you are and brings you offers/music/video directly to you based on your location. Potentially this kind of value-add is huge.

The iPhone has been out for what, two months now? Expectations of updates this soon are rather unfair, so anything that comes along (in my view) should be a pleasant surprise. The WiFi music store for one, is also a huge deal.

Instead of Starbucks Apple should have looked at putting it into a restaurant chain that had a bar in it like Friday's. Then I could get drunk and buy the Top 10 songs I normally wouldn't listen to anyways.

This is one new feature I hope they expand on even before it's released. Great idea, poor implementation.

well...its funny that the wifi service is run by tmoble and the iPhone is at&t

the interesting thing is like how subway has yellow everything to make you feel uncomfortable and quickly eat your meal and leave, starbucks selects songs that are catchy yet unnerving to help you get in get your drink and leave, therefor making room for other customers. A lot of places do this. It helps prevent people from hang out. So, if starbucks plays a song toget you to leave, why on earth would you want to buy it?

All these iPhone features are really lame. Makes me feel like a fool for buying an iPhone. And no, $100 store credit does not make up for a lack of features that are relivent to the end user.

What makes it a priority is by the fact that it is one of the first features added. The wifi music store is nice, btw.

Seems like a decent feature, but you know what my biggest problem with it is? It's going to take 2 years till I'll see this feature in my area. When that time comes, I'm sure that I couldn't care less about this at all.

I could care less. Really, I could.

I think its a great idea, the whole wifi music store is a great idea. I doubt i will use it, but im sure there are a ton of people that will. Tons of people love starbucks, and to people, buying one song here and there for .99 isnt a big deal. Im sure a lot of people will just try it out for fun, and overall, i think its a program that they should come otu with years ago for the ipod, but i can see why it took so long, and i personally am excited for it, even if i dont use it.

I thought it did come with free wifi?? Maybe I misunderstood.

I was actually SHOCKED to find Tmobile charging for the hotspot at Starbucks. When I got my iphone I was out and about and ended up at Starbucks. Just wanting to try the wifi connections I attempted to log on only to find you have to have an account. I was pretty floored. Who actually pays for that service?

the starbucks deal with apple definitely does not include free wifi. only access to the itunes store (maybe even only to buy the songs played at starbucks ). but if you need wifi and you're in a jam, it's somewhat convenient to have that option to buy wifi for a day. t-mobile users with data plans (like the sidekick/dash folk), i think, get free wifi access at starbucks.

the Starbucks thing is lame as i don't think any majority of people just sit at a Starbucks doing their thing and happen to think..'oh i would like to download this song'. I'm not against it either as it hardly affects me. Had they said free wifi also while at Starbucks that would've been better but still wouldn't touch me as a consumer...they burn their coffee.

actually, i was at a starbucks studying a few months ago, and a string of songs came on. i had no idea who the performers were, and i would have downloaded all those songs if i could. i never found out what those songs were. if only the iphone+starbucks were out then. :(
