Office 2008 is a huge disappointment. I recently switched to Mac from PC, which I am generally happy with. But Word, Excel, PP 2008 are all extremely slow and destroy my whole Leopard experience. Tried to switch to iWork but will not do because of lack of certain functions, an equation editor etc.

Now my question is: will running Office 2007 on Windows XP through Parallels work better than Office 2008 under Leopard?

Comments appreciated!

I haven't used Office 08 but I use Office 07 in Fusion and it runs better than under Vista on my Dell D820 - which is pretty good.

I have both and prefer 2008 for ease of use. I haven't had any issues with 2008 other then it takes a little longer to load then I'd like. This is still speedier then the time required to load Parallels and office. I also had occasional issues with Excel 2007 locking up in Parallels.

there isn't a good answer to that question. I've tried vmware with my bootcamp partition and it is slooooow..way to slow for my tastes. Takes lik 5 min to start too...who wants that when all you want is to load word? Office 2008 has potential, but right now it is so buggy that I can't honestly recommend it. I'd stick with 2004. Even though its through rosetta, at least it isn't really buggy lik 2008...but it is as slow as 2008..maybe even a tad slower =\

if office 2007 could somehow run natively in osx, that would be the best option =\
