Hi guys

Just a quick question. On any of my machines that are running El Capitan, I've noticed Office 2016 apps to be a real CPU hog compared to office 2011. For instance, word will regularly jump up to 50% CPU usage whereas Office 2011 will be at a normal 10/20% whilst typing.

The same is for apps such as Excel and Powerpoint.

Has anyone else noticed this? I ask as I'm pretty sure the constant CPU hogging is affecting battery life.

Any fixes or anything?

Thanks

Was thinking of moving to MicroSoft Office 2016, to help solve El Capitan`s tragic Mail implementation, time to rethink if this is a common issue, as my portables need to be, well portable. Application`s burning through the battery life are clearly undesirable, with Office 2011 not being an issue.

It got worse with the latest update they pushed out. Going back to a previous build makes it better but 2011 is still much better

I'd use pages as it uses the least CPU but not being able to save to word files is annoying (have to use export which brings up a save as box)
