iPhone Office 365 exchange account does not work

Hi,

Just initialized my new iPhone XS MAX. Everything went fine, but I cannot setup my company email account, which works flawlessly on my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 7 Plus on the same iOS version. Tried to delete account, add it again using automatic and manual mode. Credentials are OK, I got ticks at each setting line, email headers are being downloaded initially but then it all stops. New e-mails are not pushed and I am not able to read any fetched e-mail - clicking on header shows only spinning wheel and no content at all. Status bar shows "Checking email" and nothing more. At the same time I configured Outlook to work with the same account on the same device and it works just fine. Any ideas? Anybody encountered the same problem?

My workplace also utses office 365 accounts, but I have not encountered an issues with Mail on iOS 12 on my iPad so far. What server address do you use ?

Is your work using Office 365 or an older version of Exchange? My work is on Office 365 and is working fine with my phone. I can't remember on older Exchange, but on Office 365 you can log into the web version and manage your devices in settings --> Mail --> Mobile Devices. Maybe you hit the device limit so by removing some old devices, it will start working again.

Thanks for your feedback. Problem solved - the reason was rather awkward. I had my old iPhone 7 and I initialized new iPhone XS Max restoring backup from iCloud, therefore the new iPhone had the same name as the old one. After I removed old iPhone from iCloud devices Exchange mail started to work. That's strange, because another e-mail account at gmail worked fine at the same time. Maybe it is somehow related to push mode.

Various vendors have different device rules. This may be MS rule so someone can't duplicate account on another device and thus steal email. Glad it is solved anyway
