Office X has stopped responding

Does any0one know why Office x my have become unstable on my computer? I have tried all that I know how to do including scratching office off of my computer and reinstalling it. it still hangs up and will go no further than the splash screen in entourage and screen with no file open in word.

I depend on these programs every day and cannot figure out why this would happen.

Any thoughts?

Well,

After uninstalling and reinstalling three time, (and one sleepless night as I freaked out) I have finally gotten Office X to respond again.

Would have loved some feedback though.

Sorry, I just found your thread....

I had touble with office once, and I uninstalled it. Then I scoured the HD for office remnants to delete(like preference files and stuff) Then when I reinstalled it I didn't have any problems.

Remember, you can always fix a computer problem. It is just a matter of how drastic you want to get. If you can't solve it, reinstall. That is my motto. It takes me 3 hours to backup and reinstall most computers. If it looks like a problem is going to take me more than 3 hours to fix, then often re-installing becomes a valid option.

font problem?

i saw a problem like this where there were too many system fonts. at least, too many for office. i moved a few out of the font folder and suddenly office behaved again.
