Just a word of caution;

I was looking to unlock my iPhone and saw a website promoting those bastards. Had more then 500 comments saying it works. Went to officialiphoneunlock.co.uk and they had unlock available for my carrier (SoftBank Japan). Went for more information and I saw the Facebook page with more than 5k likes. I thought it was enough information to trust them.

WRONG! Later I realized practically ALL "happy customers" are dummy accounts. Even here this MoFo is promoting his services and creating those dummy accounts to defend his scam.
In his Facebook page, the same. A bunch of dummy accounts. Just check most of the replies saying "oh, I had to wait a week and was angry but later I got my device unlocked. You guys rock!". Yesterday I saw some angry woman complaining she waited more than 45 days and no response from them. Today there's no message (so they delete bad comments).

BEWARE, officialiphoneunlock.co.uk is a SCAM. Just check all those happy customer accounts and you'll realize it's all fakes.
Now he's promoting affiliation, offering earnings from 3k to 90k monthly! Guess what? A bunch of guys around the world are going to promote his service "as working as advertised" so they can make money. I don't doubt he might give a share for his scam but customers should now about it. That's why you'll see some not-dummy accounts, but they're not the majority.
Even here in this forum you'll see some accounts created just to say it works.

He is doing the same as Timothy Ferriss (author of 4 hour work week). Outsource a bunch of people to promote his services online dwarfing bad comments. That company has a registered VAT but it's like those "as seen on TV". They offer a product that don't work and just a few manage to get their money back.

That's the problem. I searched and saw thousands of good comments about it before I realized it was all fakes.

Now I'm scared because I gave my CC information to those bastards.

Call your CC company, explain the situation and they can cancel your card/block the transaction.

As long as you have been a member here, I'm surprised you have never read about this guy before.
The biggest scammer in the business and doing it for years.
Regular warnings are posted about him all the time.

Here is one from just 2 days ago

Get the credit card company to reverse the charges. They will do that unless he can prove that he delivered (and that is going to be very hard indeed). Furthermore, they will charge him a substantial reversal fee, and if he gets many reversals he will have to find another credit card company to work with.

I'm sure he has had hundreds if not thousands of reversals.
This guy has scammed thousands of people.

Yeah, I did that after being scammed. And they got reeeeeeally angry. They threatened to ban my IMEI, as if they could...

I just wanted to add to following website to the scam list

http://www.theiphoneunlock.co.uk

I made a payment 2 weeks ago and emailed them to get an update a few times but no reply. I tried to phone as well but it always go on answer phone. They even say 100% money back guarantee

They have provided an address in the UK (1 Ripple Court, Brockeridge Park, Gloucestershire GL20 6FG). I would curious to know if we can report them to the police!!

hello everyone 3 months ago j (I paid € 134 for debolquer officialiphoneunlock.co.uk to my iphone 5 and I'm still waiting for 48 hours to 1000jours theyare thieves I scammed € 134
be careful!!!!!
je me suis fait arnaquer par le site officialiphoneunlock se sont des voleurs

is there a reason for people to make a new MacRumors account just to post scam sites as a scam? What do they have to gain? I'm genuinely curious. The same thing happened in another topic, it was swamped with MacRumor Newbies with only 1 post just to say "I got scammed by this iPhone unlock site".

Why?

About a year ago I unlocked my other half's phone via this site. The price was about the same as an unlocking shop in the neighbourhood (both a little higher in price than I thought an unlock would be).

But, anyway, it worked as advertised. Did I get super lucky? What is the scam? Are they no longer actually unlocking phones?

I'm a proper poster by the way. No connection to these people.

Even if they could unlock your sprint iPhone, it would only be for international use

They are cheats, they scammed me

OfficialiPhoneUnlock is a big SCAM, they ordered unlocks from our company and are now refusing to pay, we have all transactions documented in emails showing that they ordered unlocks, we also ordered a SPAIN Orange iPhone unlock from their website, we got a response saying that this service was not available, when we asked for a refund they did not respond. This company is a fraud, and I will post this review on as many sites as possible to let everyone know that they cheat people

Hi guys,
Unfortunately I have also been scammed and decided to register in macrumors just to share a bit of experience.

I have just paid a small amount of 19.99GBP as a pre-order, as they claimed they will get into contract with Orange France in 2 days and will complete my unlock. The price was a bit cheaper than elsewhere so I took the chance. Of course I received nothing in the end.
I also did a small research prior purchase and I was also scammed by the fake comments. Later posted on their fan page and got blocked/deleted.

Once I've read all the threads found here I decided to do something else.
First I submitted a chargeback request trough my Card Issuer - my bank, that is probably the best thing to do in such cases.
Second I tried to find as much information about all 3'rd parties they use. Hosting company and two payment gateways. I have sent them emails to warn them about this fraud and I got responses where they claim that they will investigate. Also I got couple of sites like actionfraud.police.uk where I submitted fraud reports. Also OfficialIphoneUnlock have posted bank details for wire transfers - found on their fan page which I also submitted to the police.

At this point I don't think all i've done is going to really do something to them, but I believe if all of you guys being scammed, do the same thing they will finally get in trouble.

P.S. Some info you may find useful in your reports.

Bank details as found on their fan page:
Account Name: Official iPhone Unlock Limited
IBAN: MT90VALL22013000000040021631816
BIC: VALLMTMT

Hosting company: cloudflare.com
1's payment gateway: stripe.com
2'nd payment gateway: dalpay.com

Hope you find this useful :)
