Hey everyone,

I've been doing a bit of research and playing around, I think its time to leave the iPhone world...Apple's IOS has become insanely stale and these updates are a joke , iOS6 was the finally straw. So Ive been fooling around with the Galaxy 3, and I gotta say really impressive!

So I have a few questions before jumping ship from the iphone world. BTW I do jailbreak, so some questions will stem off of that.

1. How much better is network connection (Signal) with carrier's network and with WIFI, is it stronger than the iphone 4?

2. I know the battery is larger than the iphones, but does it last much longer? What has been your experience on it? I can usually get through a whole day no problem with my IP4.

3. I hear a lot of complaining about using the S3 outside, is it really that bad seeing the screen outside?

4. This stems off my jailbreak....With jail break when I received a text message, I could text back from anywhere on the screen or lockscreen. Can android do this too? Or must you open up the messages app to reply?

5. What is your opinion on samsungs touchwiz and does it hinder android at all?

6. If you could list a few negatives you really dislike about the phone

7. Is there any reason to wait and not get this phone? Or should I go ahead and make the purchase?

Thank you so much!

1. I found with AT&T in my area, the connection is better with the SGS3 than the 4S I had.

2. My battery life is roughly the same - it all depends on use.

3. I have no problems using it in sunlight.

4. You can replace the default messaging app - and several offer reply options from the popup (without opening the app).

5. TW is close to AOSP in the interface - more so than Sense from HTC.

6. I haven't found any yet.

7. It will be roughly a year before we see the SGS4.

2. Battery life for me is better than my 4S. You shouldn't have any problem with the S3 battery, and the good part is, if you do, you can swap batteries. Something you can't do with any iPhone.

3. With the latest OTA update from AT&T, there's now a brightness slider in the notification drop down, so you can easily turn it up when needed. I don't have any problem in bright sunlight.

4. I use Handcent as my SMS application (it replaces the stock messaging app). It also works better with MMS messages than the stock app and it does have a quick reply popup option that works similar to biteSMS on a jailbroken iPhone.

5. Touchwiz is OK, but I prefer to use other launchers like Apex or Nova. They have tons of options and easily replace the stock Touchwiz launcher.

6. I seriously can't say anything bad about the phone. The speaker is loud and clear on phone calls, the battery is great, and having an external SD card is awesome. The phone is a wonderful piece of tech.

7. I say go ahead. You've got 30 days to try it out, so what do you have to lose?

Yes, texting is better. You can use a different keyboard app - like swiftkey, and a different text app, so it is just a matter of finding what you like.

I haven't tried group messaging, but I'm sure it's there. I can schedule messages, so I don't see why I couldn't send group messages.

2. I get through a whole day no problem with my S3. I've found battery life to be fantastic. Obviously you need to tweak a few settings to turn some things off or down to save battery (system sounds, haptic feedback, lower the brightness a bit). I have no complains about the battery life.

3. I've found that it depends more on the brightness level at which you have your phone set. I use mine at about 10% brightness normally so when I get out into the sunlight it is very hard to see it. But if I turn the brightness up, I can see it no problem.

5. I like it, I think think it adds some nice touches of it's own and have found it very easy and comfortable to use.

6. No complains about the S3 for me, have had mine for three weeks (switched from an iPhone 4) and I am totally satisfied with it. Great battery, fantastic size allowing for very comfortable use even with one hand, excellent buttons placement, absolutely gorgeous 4.8" screen, great sound, great phone calls and connectivity and a very smooth and responsive experience...it is amazing.

7. Well that depends...what would you be waiting for? A new Nexus device? You could wait for that but if anything, it may be announced within the next two months and even then it is not clear what it will be. If the new Nexus is made by Samsung, I am confident that they won't make it better than the S3 (their flagship phone) specs wise. So unless you absolutely want stock Android instead of TouchWiz, I would recommend you get the S3 now, you really can't go wrong by getting it. The S3 is also getting Jelly Bean this coming month, which will make it even better.
