Was using xp on bootcamp through parallels. software update (on xp) was runnning and i was messing about with the usb and keyboard support on the bottom right of the parallels window. resukted in loss of trackpad.
managed to cancel updates and shut down the vm, but as vm was displaying 'now safe to turn off' dialogue i got a mac message saying i needed to restart os x. did this and os x will not load. it doesn't get passed grey apple screen before the same message appears and will not load of install cd either.
however windows loads through bootcamp and works fine(where i'm typing this...).
any ideas?
thanks.

edit: was running parallels rc3150.

okay was reading a bit on parallels forum which suggests i might be able to get mac os to boot with an older install disk or diskwarrior. neither of which i have access to.
does anyone know how to access files in my mac partition from windows?

macdrive 7 beta didn't work, but macdrive 6 does.
as i can see my mac os x partition does anyone have any advice on what to alter/delete to get a boot working from the install disc? i've already deleted (well, removed to my xp desktop) library/startupitems/parallels, the parallels app and its corresponding folder in the library with no luck.
thanks.

fixed it!
managed to repair disc from a friend's g4 ibook by starting up in target disc mode. disk utility showed no errors, but immediately after repairing disc it booted fine; restoring my previous firefox session!
