So we're stuck to transfering files via WIFI again:

http://www.appleinsider.com/article...ng_file_access_wireless_sharing_for_ipad.html

That's quite dumb. I'd like to put my whole Univerisity folder (something like 20gb) on the iPad, of course I cannot (easily) transfer so much stuff via WIFI. And the thing about documents being embedded in the application itself, that's stupid too....if you remove the app, you loose the documents...

1) Where can I read about this?

2) Did you read the article I linked? It states that File Sharing will work wirelessly....

Why not? You should be able to transfer 20gb in about 15 minutes max through Wi-Fi n. I transfer 4GB HD movies all the time between my macs and it takes 2-3 minutes.

So could you get movies from a windows computer to the ipad.

I think that "media stuff" (music, videos, movies, photos, ringtones, etc) should be synced "the old way" (through itunes).

As long as you want them to be played by Apple apps ("iPod" and the new "Videos" app).

Whereas the "File Sharing" folder (the topic of this thread) will be accessible from iWork and AppStore Apps. So basically you could put a movie in that folder and play it in an AppStore app (like GoodReader, FileAid, etc.).

The problem about App Store apps is that the open they same formats of the iPod/Video apps. I'm sure iPad users could enjoy an app that plays DIVX, XVID, MKVs and so on.

720p x264 MKVs would be great.

I think people need to calm down. (I'm actually talking about the poster).

Everything will be taken care of. It's not the end of the world.....people will live. Trust me.

Except we're on MacRumors and not on "Bequietandletswait4things2happen.com". Have you taken a look to the No_clues_no_rumors_whatsoever_but_we_want_to_believe 6000-post "Waiting for Arrandale" thread?

Not many will have a 20GB file delta.

Attach iPad to Mac using USB 30 pin cable. Drag wanted files in.

You won't necessarily lose the docs if you delete the app. This hasn't shipped yet.
