Not a deep one, but I guess in my pocket it got a shallow one, vertically down the middle of the screen at the top for about a centimeter. It's only noticeable when you're on a lighter screen, and the light just gets reflected off the scratch in a different way - the colors look different.

Does anyone have any recommendations for getting rid of this? It's not deep but a bit annoying. I've searched around but haven't found much that I'm sure is specifically about the iPhone 3G screen.

Just for personal intrest did you have any screen protector on it?

As for the scratch I'm pretty sure you will need to replace the screen :(

I got a small scratch on the screen of my first generation iPhone. I stopped being able to notice it after I put a screen protector on it. I recommend the Power Support Crystal Film sold in the Apple Store. It is almost impossible to tell it's installed.

No, I didn't have any protector.

Thanks iFerd! I always thought screen protectors were big plastic lumps that made your iPhone look awkward ;)

yeah if you use a screen protector it should fill in the scratch.

I have had success on other phones polishing out scratches using Brasso (A metal polish).

Try it at your own risk, but if the scratch is not deep you might be in luck.
