oh oh harddrive upgrade went wrong

was upgrading the harddrive in my imac and everything was great until one cable caught and when pushed into its seated area it broke of the logic bored oh no i only got the machine on thursday

OUCH!!!!!! Did you just say the logic board broke? I don't think AppleCare will cover that

I think he meant to say he broke the cable OFF the logic board.

OP, post detailed picture of this broken connector and that part of logic board where it was mounted. Probably, as written above, it could be soldered back.

Have not deal with recent iMac, but applies to MacBook Pro.

Was it connected via a black plastic piece? Those black pieces are designed to come off and snap back together.

its was metal part on the logic board that the cable clips into its come striaight off and the gold connectors inside it where damaged too
