It was Job's keynote that did me in. I resisted for a good 48 hours...

But watching all the cool new things I can do just made me cave.

Sure, I use a Mac work. And we have a MB at home.

But there is no home desktop to be our media hub. (The Apple TV is pretty lonely.) And no computer I would use for iLife and making movies.

So I just went for it. (Hope my wife doesn't kill me.)

Specs:

24" iMac
2.8 Extreme Core Duo
1 gig memory (will upgrade to 4 gigs. Apple's memory prices are just insulting)
1 tb drive

Curse you Apple and Jobs for making irresistible products...

Do you have 4 GB RAM in your MBP as well?

If so, i will be terribly envious of your setup when your iMac comes...

I do have 4 gb in the MBP.

I spend waaaayyyy too much money on Apple products. Better get back to work so I don't go broke...

i have a little more restraint. i only bought iLife and iWork - no new hardware for me this time around.

enjoy it when it comes - it'll definitely blow your other machines outta the water!

I just picked up a mid-tier iMac at the local Apple Store, using my faculty discount for my primary work -- it's the first Mac in the department. :D

Unfortunately, I'll have to suffer with a Dell desktop for 3-4 more days while the IT staff re-images the machine -- a longer process because of the need to retain the new version of iLife.

(My other job -- mainly aimed at paying for an engagement ring -- is entirely run on Macs.)

My Cumulative Macintosh Tallies (over 20 years):
Personal Macintoshes: 20
Professional Macintoshes: 12 (+1)
Administrated Macintoshes: 37
