Oh Windows

Sadly, i have to use windows to use photoshop and illustrator. Not surprisingly it didn't even take one day before i got a virus and had to reinstall. Adobe better hurry up. Why must ppl, constantly send viruses? Your point is made. let it be man.

Surely you're aware that there are Mac versions of Photoshop and Illustrator.

i'm on an intel mac. No rosetta for me. thought i mentioned that (sorry), or it was assumed since that's the only way i can run win. on a mac.

Rosetta runs on all Intel Macs. You shouldn't have any trouble with running Photoshop or Illustrator on an Intel Mac. They might not run as fast as on a PowerPC, but they should still work.

Edit: You've added to your post. It seems that you're confusing Rosetta (for running PowerPC Mac apps, eg. Photoshop) and Boot Camp (for running Windows).

Yeah i know they run through rosetta. but they are too slow. so i installed boot camp and run them trough windows, so they are native. Everything else i use the mac end for.

Photoshop CS2 is faster through bootcamp (on windows) than through Rosetta. Just send somthing to the printer in bootcamp, its fast -- very very fast. Do the same on rosetta and it takes a minuter or two to send item to the printer. If your doing maybe 100 prints etc.. it takes way way too long on rosetta...

I cant wait for CS3.

Corel Painter IX.5 is about the same on both operating systems - even though that's not universal yet.

Not suprising? Not suprising? You're kidding right, I know plenty of people that have had Windows machines running for months (even years) without viruses. Shiet my Windows XP MCE 2005 (my only Windows machine at home) box has been running for months with no issues. Maybe using a Mac has made you a bit silly when it comes to looking after your own computer hardware, maybe you should of - um - installed a Virus Checker? There are plenty of good, free ones out there.

Why don't you just disconnect from the internet whenever using photoshop and illustrator under windows? Would save the trouble of a virus scan whatever program and personally I do not need internet when I'm working with these applications.

*raises hand* I've had a computer running Windows for almost nine years and have never had any viruses or spyware. It's only been the last year or so that I bothered to run anti-virus software too.
