I bought the Iphone 3g on launch day here in Canada. After taking good care of it by being careful, buying the 20$ rubber case & 25$ for the Invisible shield.

Anyways, after looking at my screen (when it's off) for scratches in the dark, I noticed a oil / rainbow circle on my screen near the bottom. Now I hear this is normal? Is it really? and How will it affect the phone/screen in the 3 year death sentence I took with rogers?

Any help would be nice. Thank you! :)

Hi sounds like newtons rings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newtons_rings this explains it very well but it is to do with a surved clear surface being put ontop of a a flat surface, which refracts the light and causes this! Its perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. A new sticky screen protector will solve it!
