First off I have somehow managed to remove my web address from Safari. I have no idea how I managed to do this but it's gone. So if I want to type out a web address there is no place to actually do this. I'm was already thoroughly annoyed and this has just about capped off my evening. So any suggestions as to how I might bring that back would be awesome.

I can go into customize toolbar and drag a google search slot. And I can enter a web address there as well so I'm not completely hooped, but when I go to a website now the web address doesn't show up is just says "Search Google or enter an address" now. so if I want to try to copy and paste a website I just plain can't

and second,

this is what I was going to come here for initially before I magically removed the above mentioned web bar. I am having issues backing up my iPad through iTunes. I keep getting an error msg whenever I try to sync it, so I did some looking and I now need to locate and copy my iPad backup. Basically backup my backup. thing is I can't find it. I am given this info as to it's location

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

Uh can't find any of that. When I open up my finder I have

All My Files
My Home
AirDrop
Desktop
Applications
Documents
Movies
Music
Pictures

as my available search locations. No library. I try a search and get nothing for Library, Application Support, MobilSync, or Backup.

Where the ef do I find my iPad's back up files?

any help on either or both of these issues would be greatly appreciated. I'm so frustrated.
I am up to date on all current safari, iTunes Mountain lion and iOS updates.

I don't know about your Safari problem, but to get to the Library folder in Finder hold down the "option" button on your keyboard when you click on "Go in the Finder menu bar.

To unhide the user library permanently you can use the following code:

Code:
chflags nohidden ~/Library

Safari 6 has an omnibar like Chrome and IE9. I don't know why when you type an address it clears and you can't copy pasta it. You could try deleting the Safari preferences plist.

Go to View from the Safari menu bar ( top of the screen)

From there, go to customise toolbar.

Put back the settings you removed.

In Safari make sure under View that the very top item will toggle between Hide Toolbar and Show Toolbar.
You want the Toolbar displayed not hidden.

If you deleted the default tool bar you can restore to Whole default set from View, Customize ToolBar, and drags the very bottom default set up to the top.

If you want to restore Safari back to its default setting click on Safari to the left of File at the top of the screen and pick Reset Safari from the drop down menu. Safari will restart LOOSING anything it has picked up along the way.

Finder hides the root Library. Just rest your cursor on Go, the drop down menu is displayed. If you hold down the Option key you will see the Library selection pop into view.

Thank you. That did the trick. Found what I was looking for there.

I don't know what was going on last night. I did that and my address bar just would not display the web site addresses.

Got on today and everything is back to normal. Just another bit of oddness on the mac to add to the list I guess. Fixed itself. Guess the Apple Gnomes went to work after I went to bed last night.

Thanks for all the help people. I appreciate it.
