you know that redesign of http://www.kidneysocal.org I have been working on for weeks now, including php, cms ect. the one which was on http://www.kidneysocal.org/redesign and http://www.kidneysocal.org/cmsms

well......
I decided that I did not like it so much

and I wanted to mess arround with my new copy of CS3, so I came up with this new design, which is one that I actually cant find any personal complaints about. Hoping that maybe you guys could.

Feedback and Critique appreciated

The side shadows are way too heavy, there's irregularity in some of the shadow areas (like near the top corners of the image), and the image is 1 pixel too high (or the turquoise band is 1 pixel too low).

the image is 1 pixel too high (or the turquoise band is 1 pixel too low).

To Start: Thanks for your Comments.

I did this intentionally to give the page a 3D jumping off the page effect. But if you dont see that, then obviously I didnt do a good job at it. Now that you know that does it look like that?

and as per the shadows, I was doing them that think in an attempt to do the same effect that I just mentioned.

Thanks for you comments

Why give that much acreage to a stock shot of a city at night?
What does that add to your client's message?
Is it an important identifier for the audience?
About the only thing I can think of is - "Yeah, we have a lot of people here - you'd think at least a few of them would be organ donors". Or "This is your city, think about supporting... " (Course, that doesn't work for anyone who identifies with non-Downtown locales...)

If you need to say "Urban SoCal" graphically, I would go back to the smaller treatment in the top area which is now whitespace.
