Ok guys... I am lost.. Need help...

Ok... I wanted to start with a fresh Iphone 3g running 3.0. I did restore in Itunes.
I am not at the "Slide for emergancy" screen. I want to unlock and jailbreak so I can install my daughters ATT sim card and use. (No data plan)
I went threw the unlock process but, It freezes at a bright screen. Never making it past.
I was unable to unlock it before when I used all of my stuff. All I wanted was a clean Iphone so the phone didn't carry my name, contacts pictures and stuff, that is why I wanted to start fresh. I tried to just sync with her computer to clean it up that way but that didnt work. That is when I did a restore to try a different route..
What am I missing here??? I dont want to activate on itunes...
Lets say I want to sell it on ebay as an unlocked jailbroken phone, how is everyone doing it..

Thanks but... I get to step ten.. That is when the bright screen appears on the iphone and wont go past..
Like I said... I have jail broken this phone before. I know the steps. I just never did it with a "Clean" Iphone..

Ok... I kept trying.. Like for the 8th time and.. now it has worked.. I am just baffled is to why it was acting like that.. IDK..
