AirPods Pro 2 just arrived and I was in a rush to try Adaptive Transparency.

Am I hearing the sounds through AirPods or is my ear hearing the noise and people talking? It feels so natural.....and I find it confusing because I want to understand if I am hearing these noises through the AirPods or naturally?

If these noises are going through AirPods Mics then played to me in via AirPods..its hard to believe because the sounds are so natural and its so instant and no delays?

You better believe it!

It works a similar way to Gen 1, in that external sounds enter the AirPods, sorcery happens & then the sounds are exhausted into your ear in as natural state as possible. Even Gen 1 are great at this, so Gen 2 must be something going off reviews (like yours).

The added functions of Adaptive Transparency is that annoying sounds are also entered into the sorcery & are muted before they’re exhausted into your ears, thanks to the much faster H2 chip which is able to calculate sounds at many more times a second.

Thanks for that detailed explanation.

With AirPods 1 it didn’t work that well. For me anyway.
For example ordering some food in a takeaway I couldn’t hear the person that works there because of all the other noise.

I’d be interested to know if you could have a convo in a busy takeaway.

It feels so natural. It’s really impressive.

Got my clothes ironed, going out tonight to try these out!

I’m tipping the fit may not have been as air tight as the Gen 2? It’s a very important aspect to these things which every feature depends upon.

Nearest situation to that which I’m frequently in is at gym, & I can hear people talk to me when in Transparency mode.

This will work awesome when you at a concert and the noise level is really loud. The adaptive transparency will do its job and not hurt your ears. Or wear them at a Nasar/Formula 1 car race. Or when you go to monster jam. That's where this technology is awesome.

Frustrating that they won't do the work to include this toggle into an iOS 15 build.

There are folks out here (me) that use devices where iOS 15 is the end, but I also purchase new accessories or already have some that would/should be getting Adaptive Transparency (like APMs)
If you have any device on 16 you should be able to enable the feature there, and then it should stay enabled on an iOS 15 device, I'd think.

Ok is mine working? In a busy bar and I can everything like the original AirPods. I can barely hear the bar tender?

Tim Cook - I know you read, can you pay for my drinks please? Thanks
