ok i really need help with this!!

Hey guys for the longest time iv been trying to make a sequence edit in cs2 with about 7 picutres i took of my freind skating... but i cant figure it out. the cloest i came was to duplicating every picture and then putting it on top of the other and turning down the opacity, however this turns out to look like absolute junk.
Is there anyone out there who knows a tutorial for this?
or perhaps im making a simple mistake... please someone help.

oh and heres an idea of a srquence shot if you dont understand what im talking about.

Put masks on each layer and mask out everything that doesn't change from shot to shot. In the example you have here it would be a base layer with everything with 4 layers on top with just the guy.

and dont forget the order of the layers too
