So my fingertips had pomade on them... it was pretty much dry but it had that kind of oily residue. Anyway, I lightly brushed my finger over my camera lens when I was taking my phone out of my pocket. I can't obviously see anything wrong with my camera lens nor is there anything obvious when I take pictures, but is there any way to know when the lens might have to be cleaned?

On my old Pixel 2 it'd occasionally have a message pop up telling you that your lens may need to be cleaned. Anything like this on iPhone? Thanks!

One method that is 100% fail safe it to
  1. Bring the phone to head height.
  2. Hold phone at a distance you can comfortable focus at
  3. Rotate the phone to the screen the pointed away from you
  4. Inspect the crystal covering the cameras(s)
  5. Clean crystal if obstruction is visible in step 4
Be sure you are wearing any reading glasses or contact lenses BEFORE INSPECTION if so required.
