It's a nice work, you going to have to give us some painting tips. :)

...thanks Allan ...tips... my old portrait painting teacher once told me...
..."don't wash your watercolor brushes in hot water dummie, if there good brushes the hairs will fall out..."...uh...I knew that!
been trying to find the Digital equivalent ever since!
Not much of a tip but something to ponder.

I'm trying to relearn how to paint (not that I was ever great at it), any books on digital painting you might suggest? Non digital ones?

Allan,
I am pretty much self taught from a Digital perspective, I really just applied all the stuff I learned in Art School so I have no real reference to point you to.I used to have these two old soft cover "Learn How to Paint with Oils, and Learn How to Paint with Pastels...." they were made in the sixties I think and they were fantastic ...I did a search for them awhile ago but they are long gone I imagine! I would always refer back to them...it was like Painting for Dummies!

BUT,,,,I do have a little article , about 10 pages or so I found while reasearching JC Leyendecker...my hero... it is really inspiring and quite a tutorial on the "old ways"...you may find it helpful. I will use the contact from your site.
I will email it to you right now, please let me know if this is of any help to you.
I respect all the help and advice you give out to some of the kids on this forum...and me too...LOL!

Thanks! I like Leyendecker, he's a big influence on a few modern day Illustrators.
