lool! Thats why I went and picked mine up like 3 days after launch. I didn't really want to get it just yet, but I remembered how Apple Fanatics get down and just pulled the trigger.

Ive been having a hell of a time finding one.. Just did the "in-store reservation" on thursday.. I hope it comes soon. I dont know if it woulda been better to just order online..
Online says "ships 5-7 days", then you figure another 3 days to receive it. I would like to think I could get one in store sooner than 10 days. (i hope!)

What's the rush? Apple's pattern is initial shortages, then a short while later there is product available everywhere. Everyone who wants an iPad and has the money will get one.
The first step is to start a new thread stating that you are thinking about getting one and asking for opinions. Once you do that and get flamed, a new iPad will show up at your house.

. I was lucky though. In my small town the Best Buy had about 60 the first day, and I was able to get one quickly. My Best Buy has gotten many more iPads since then, they're pretty abundant down here.

The funny thing, after I decided to get it the night before, I had no way of knowing if my LAS had any in stock till the next morning. I couldn't sleep the whole night. lol.

If Best Buy is offering them for sale through there website you can purchase it online and have it held for pickup at a store.

To think it was easier getting an iPad on its launch week. I went to the Apple Store on the second day and bought one without all the hassle of reserving or waiting. I'm guessing with all the hate and hype out the way, people are starting to realize the usefulness and convenience of an iPad.

I don't know what would be faster. Order online or wait for my in store reservation..

Please start another thread when your leaving your home and on your way to get your Ipad, then one when you get to the store, and another when you take out your credit card to pay for it, yet another when you are on your way home, and finally please please do not forget to alert us when your opening the box and have finally powered it on for the first time.
Then if you have the energy let us know how your enjoying it and start some threads if there are any questions you might have, like, how to move an icon, clean your screen, whether or not it will tether to an iPhone, if it has a USB connector, which case is the best, which applications are the very best.

Ha! I ordered one on the 15th of April and it won't be here til at least April 27th it is saying. It shipped directly from China according to FedEx tracking. Luckily it is here in Houston now, but still says April 27th.
They come and go, just like the iPod Touch, there were periods of shortages much after launch. When iPad goes broader than US there will again be shortages.
But you are right, if one wants one, order it and you'll get it in now time. Less luck for the impulse buyers.
