Hey guys;

I jsut followed a number of different WinPwn 2.0 guides to jailbreak my iPhone 3G.

So, I manage to get it into "DFU" mode. All's good. Then I change my mind. I don't wanna risk bricking my iPhone.

So, I go to turn on my phone... And it doesn't work!

How do I get out of DFU Mode? I've tried turning it on plugged in, not plugged in, etc. iTunes won't recognize it. Do I have a $3000 brick now?

Please help me!

1. Never turn off the phone or anything for that matter when you doing something like this.

2. You're a moron if you paid $3,000 for an iphone.

3. You can't brick the phone by jailbreaking. Put it in DFU mode and restore the firmware.

DFU is a mode for restoring.

You can't exit it any other way than restoring your phone using iTunes.

You may as well just use the pwnage firmware you made and finish the process.

But if your really that scared then just click on restore in itunes and it will put it back to factory settings.

$3000 is exactly right if he is in Canada. my monthly bill is just under $90. Spread that out over 36 months and add the purchase price. You have yourself a $3000 phone.

Even if you're in the states, it's likely you're paying just over $2000. It's just too bad Canadian cell phone companies are absolutely terrible.

Come on, you didn't REALLY believe you got your phone for $199 or $299 did you?

Ahem. It would only be irony if he was using it to criticise someone's poor grammar**.

"Speakers communicate implied propositions that are intentionally contradictory to the propositions contained in the words themselves" - wikipedia.

However, it is a pretty well known fact that people from the USA do not get irony. No, Alanis, a black fly in your chardonnay is not ironic.

**Edit: and doing it deliberately

This may be a silly questioon but why to you need to put the phone in DFU mode to restore a custom firmware. Why can't I just restore the pwned firmware in iTunes without being in DFU?

I hope you're being ironic about Alanis considering she's Canadian.

Pot, have you met kettle?

Ha, you got me, I never knew that

I also wish I had never posted it, as that awful song has been going non-stop in my head ever since.

Sorry to my friends from the USA.
