I used PwnageTool (I think, might have been QuickPwn ) to get the custom firmware for my iPhone (iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Custom_Restore.ipsw) and now I'm not sure what to do.

Probably easy question but I am confused as to how to put the firmware on my iPhone.

Also, another quick question: When it is on my iPhone, and I go to restore, when it verifies the software will everything be fine?

Thanks guys.
Sorry if they are easy questions, I just want to know as I don't want to stuff this up epically!

Ah thank you, I can't believe I missed that!

Sorry the question is pretty hard to understand, what I mean was:
When restoring, iTunes always verifies that the software is legit, is the Custom Firmware coded to be 'legit' or don't I have to worry about that?

I'm not sure if iTunes thinks it's legit or if it even checks. Either way, if you hold down the alt/option key on a Mac or the Ctrl key n a PC while clicking the Restore button, you'll be able to choose the custom firmware Pwnage created. It's all in the link above. :)
