I have what I think is a 2g ipod. It was a Windows version and at the time I bought it there was no itunes for windows so I used a program called Ephopod. Now that I have a mac would there be any good reason to copy all my songs to the mac with senuti, then format the ipod in osx?

edit - oops, didnt even think about putting this in the ipod/itunes forum.

the only thing i can think of is if you wanted to use itunes with your ipod (which you could still do on a PC now). Or if you wanted to do software updates with your ipod on a mac, as opposed to doing updates on your PC.

I'd say if you use the iPod for file storage, or to transfer files to other PC's keep it windows formated, PC's can't read hfs filesystems so you'd be out of look transfering files to PC's. Otherwise it wouldn't hurt to reformat, i've noticed that with my iPod it seems a little slower mounting and ejecting on the mac when formated with fat32 as apposed to hfs.
