'Old' applications in Mac OS X Tiger

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me?

I wish to install Tiger on to my computer (iMac Flat Panel, 10.2.8). My question is: will iPhoto and AppleWorks and all of my 10.2.8 apps work in 10.4? I'm aware that some applications will need updating which I am more than prepared to do, however I want to know if I will have AppleWorks or iPhoto after 10.4 has been installed.

Alternatively, will I have to purchase iLife and iWorks to have a photo and office suite?

Any help on this matter is appreciated and I would be extremely greatful!

There's a slight caveat here. Do an upgrade or an Archive and Install and your Appleworks and iPhoto (2.0) will still be there. Do a clean install and you'll have to re-install Applewords and iPhoto from your original restore CD since iLife isn't included on the Tiger disc. Bear in mind that Spotlight doesn't find things in earlier versions of iPhoto without a little bit of work from a few scripts.

The rest should work. There's an excellent compatibility page at macintouch.com which lists lots of 3rd party apps and how they work under Tiger and if they need updates etc.
