So i see Bioshock is on sale today from 19.99 to 4.99 --- I've never played it just wondering if that is still a good game and worth the buy?

Bioshock isn't that old. And yes, its is deffo worth picking up at that price. It still holds up very well.

that price is for app store... is it better on steam?

It is the exact same game. The only difference with buying it on Steam is that it will have access to all of Steam's social and cross-platform features. However, the version of Bioshock on Steam is for Windows only at the moment. A Mac/Linux release may be in the pipeline somewhere (maybe) for Steam which Steam users would get free if they already have it in their Steam Library, but I wouldn't count on it.

The Mac App Store version in this case is the clear winner if you're gaming on a Mac.

Own it. Played it through and loved it. Still installed on my Mac today.

Yes, play it!

The MacGameStore has had good deals on Bioshock 2 as well—if you enjoy Bioshock I'd recommend the sequel at some point.

(Sadly I dunno if the Minerva's Den DLC for BS2 is available for Mac—one of the best DLC experiences I've ever played.)

Bioshock isn't that old.

The original release date was 7-1/2 years ago. The Mac port came out about a year after that, so it's no spring chicken either.

That doesn't mean Bioshock doesn't hold up well today, because it very much does, but it's still comparatively old.

Which means it will run really well on most Macs made since then.

Sadly it is not available!

You sir, have your porting dates incorrect. The Mac release was 2 years and 2 months after the PC one. August 2007/October 2009.
