All,

I have two questions concerning the new 2G touch. Do you think it is safe using my old ipod classic car charger for my new 2G touch or should I purchase a new one? Also, I went to Target last night to find a case for my new 2G and noticed several cases designed for the 1G on sale. Is the 1G that much different in design that its cases wont work on the 2G?

Some older iPod chargers aren't recognized by the Touch, but many are, so you might need to get a new one (but you can always try your old one first). If it works, it's fine. If not, the Touch will tell you that the accessory isn't designed for it.

The two touches are different enough that cases won't fit properly - you'll be better off with a 2G-specific one (although, depending on the case type, a 1G one might work OK).

You don't have to worry about the charger, as long as it goes through usb and can plug into the 30 pin dock connector.
Even if it doesn't work for some reason, nothing bad will happen.

And don't get a 1G case.
It may or may not work, I just don't recommmend you get one.
Just wait about another week.
They should have some in by then.
In the mean time just be very, very careful.

EDIT: Dang it! JSW beat me to it!

Thanks! I will try my old car adaptor and will wait on the case. I saw a really nice leather case for the 1G, but balked when the salesman stated it wouldn't work.
