Hey all,

I just have this old Mac Pro 1,1 lying around the house thats clearly past its useby date with upgrades, software updates etc. And since i stopped using it a year ago for a Minecraft server its been collecting dust ever since. But now as i moved into a house with a garden i was thinking about getting a barbecue for the nightmarishly british heat. Hence came the idea of up-cycling it into a mini barbecue. So would you guys think is a possible job to do within a couple of weeks or should i dump it to the scrap heap?

Thanks!

Offer it for sale locally on Facebook Marketplace or similar. Cash only, buyer picks it up. Some collectors will give it a home. Can’t imagine anything that came off it would be safe to eat or that the aluminum would hold up to the heat very well.

Someone on ebay will buy it. Failing that, at least take it somewhere that recycles e-waste.

It would make a nice indoor mini barbecue grill. Make sure to post pictures when you get it fired up! :)
