Can I connect my old MacBook Air (late 2008) as a second monitor to my other MacBook Air (early 2014)? If so, how do I do it?

Not in an easy or conventional way.

If you wanted to take apart your macbook pro, you could find a driver board for the display model and connect it to that and connect the other macbook pro to the driver board via HDMI/DP/TB whichever connection the board has.

The other option is to get 3rd party software (for if both MBPs still run fine).

CerebralX, sounds complicated. These are both Air, does that make a difference?
