We have 6 of the old original MagSafe Power Adapters that will not fit the new MacBook / MacBook Air laptops. And the cord from the power block is integral and does not have a plug in connection like what the new Power Supplies do.

Can you get a new MagSafe fitting and cut the wire from the old Power supply and attach the new MagSafe fittings?

It's just that we have all these old Power Supplies that are not able to to be used now.

If not, we will give them to Goodwill and order up extra new Power Supplies for the family.

Here is pic of the old power supply that might be helpful.

Thanks, gamboolman....

Here is 2 X pics of the old ones

There is no way to convert MagSafe 1 or 2 into MagSafe 3. They are electrically incompatible.

Some converters have been made from MagSafe 1/2 to USB-C. They would potentially work but contain active circuitry to convert between the standards and I have no idea if they are good or not:

Quality hit or miss. Used several AnyWatt years ago with a bunch of Apple Thunderbolt displays. They tend to get hot depending on how much draw. However, they did work. I recommend you only use them with 45w or 65w adapters for this reason.

Thank you for the replies and advice.

I reckon we'll just buy new Power Supplies and make a stop at Goodwill.

ms gamboolgal laughed at me and told me it would be No Joy... ha ! Guess I still have some of my raising in me of trying to make things do if at all possible.... I remember my Grandfather straightening nails on the Farm. He and my Grandmother was born in the late 1800's. Parents was raised up in the Depression on the Farm. That made a strong influence on us growing up as all we heard was tuff times.

Thanks again for the responses.

Hopefully they'll find a new home where they come to good use.

The good thing about the new ones is that they're modular and based on the USB standard, making it easier to replace cables without replacing the entire power supply. I also means that modern MacBooks can be powered directly through a USB-C port if you don't have a MagSafe 3 cable available but do have a charger for a newer iPhone, iPad, or PC that uses USB-C.
